Manolo Blahnik has just teamed up with Falke to realise a range of cute socks to wear with your heels! They’re definitely not very expensive to own a piece of Manolo but they are expensive for a pair of socks, so I thought I’d try making my own.
For this project you’ll need:
- 2 pairs of socks (I used Bonds Womens Bestie Crew)
- embroidery thread
- 4 pompoms
Manolo’s socks say ‘keep going’ but I thought ‘knock them off’ wold be a bit more fun! I found a script font that I liked online and printed it out at the right size so I could use it as a template. First, make sure you secure your thread in place on the inside of the sock. Because the opening of the sock will stretch when you’re wearing them you want to put the sock on something whilst you sew it (like a can of tissues). I used a tiny backstitch to embroider my words which did take quite a long time.
The pom pom socks are a lot faster! Secure your thread to the inside of the sock and sew up through the sock and the pom pom and back down again. Repeat this a few times then do the same with the next pom pom. Make sure you don’t put them too far apart so they are still touching when you were them.
This was a pretty easy and quick DIY (which of course are the best DIYs)! I adore how they turned out and I already have a few outfits floating around in my head to show them off.
