Pen Rainbow

That’s right! My first blog giveaway! For those of you who follow me on Twitter and Instagram you’ll know how much I love pens and stationery, especially when they come from JetPens. So you can understand my excitement when JetPens gave me the opportunity  to get some products to review and give away!

I like to think of these pens as my favourites. They are the ones that I use most at the moment and considering that I’m currently studying for exams I’m using them a lot.

Note: these photos have been edited a little bit to look prettier for my blog, so the colours you see in the photos might not be exactly the actual colour.

If you’ve read my recent post about clothes you’ll remember how much of a thing I have for bright colours right now and I think it’s very evident in my choice of pens.

Uni Style Fit Gel Pens

Style Fit Front Style Fit Back

All of my Style Fits

The reason these pens are some of my favourites is because of the design of the body. There’s no clip! I love love love pens that don’t have clips as I really find they have no use for me (plus I’m really into symmetrical-ness). There are so many beautiful colours to choose from including standard colours and some unusual variations on these, as well as some fun colours too.

I really like the idea that you can buy refills for them, so when you run out you don’t have to buy a whole new pen! I’ve run my blue black pen dry which didn’t take very long as they’re small refills, and gel pens run out quite fast anyway – so I’ll definitely have to get a refill. Style Fits are similar to Hi-Tec-Cs but I think Style Fits win on pen design.

Sakura Gelly Roll Gel Pens

Gelly Roll

All of my Gelly Rolls

These are very new to my pen collection and I’m regretting not buying more! They are so much fun! I’m currently using them to write exciting or important things in my diary as they make a very thick and vibrant line. You could see them a mile away! I think they’d be great to write cards with as well.

There are lots of different ranges of Gelly Roll, like Regular, Moonlight, Fine Point, Gold Shadow, Silver Shadow and Stardust!

Check them all out here, some are even on sale!

Pilot Hi Tec C Gel Pens

Hi Tec C

All of my Hi-Tec-Cs

Hands down Hi-Tec-Cs are my absolute favourite. Most of my uni work I write with these pens. Actually I pretty much write everything with them! I was drawn to them because they have quite a cult following and I really liked the idea of using a slightly more exciting shade of blue instead of a regular, standard blue. I chose the Cosmetic Colours Aqua Blue for this purpose and it exceeded all my expectations (which is why I’m giving one away)!

I’m hoping to eventually collect all the colours in all the sizes (there are sooo many). I bought all six of these in .4mm which is not too small and dry to write with, and not to big and squishy to write with. It’s the perfect size for me. It’s very exciting how there are different colour ranges and the ones I have are from the Cosmetic Colours, Cutie Colours, Basic Colours, and European Colours. They are a little expensive but they are PACKED with ink! I feel like they’ll never run out.

 Pilot FriXion Erasable Color Markers

FriXion Markers

FriXion markers

Erasable ink is fun! You can get really creative with how you use them. You can write things as you would with any other marker, or you can colour in a shape and then erase areas and write that way! Again I’m regretting not buying more. They’re the softest markers to write with.

Uni Propus Window Twin Highlighters

Propus Highlighters

Propus Window highlighters

Definitely the best highlighters in the world. For starters they’re double ended so you pretty much get two pens in one! The colours are so lovely. They’re definitely not your common fluorescents, they’re very soft warm pastel colours! The outstanding part of this highlighter is the little window in the wide tip so you can see through it at what you’re highlighting! Why all highlighters don’t have this, I don’t know. It’s genius!

My Favourite Pens By Colour!

Blue Pens

Blue pens

(from front to back)

Pilot FriXion Colours Erasable Marker in Light Blue: Very pretty colour, sort of a pale aqua, erases so well you’d hardly know it was ever there!

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen in Sky Blue: Not very sky blue, more like blue blue. Very smooth to write with and again erases like magic.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen .4mm in Cosmetic Colours, Clear Blue: Very pretty colour, it’s light but still vibrant enough to see clearly. Writes smoothly.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen .4mm in Cosmetic Colours, Aqua Blue: My favourite pen ever. Writes even more smoothly than the clear blue and the colour is this wonderful vibrant shade. I’m currently using it for any work I have to hand in, filling out forms, and signing this and that. It’s not your usual blue but it’s not so far from it that you can’t use it for everything.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen .4mm in Cute Colours, Soda Blue: Not as smooth to write with as the other two blue Hi-Tec-Cs, but what it lacks in smoothness it makes up for in colour. It’s such a sweet colour! I find it very similar to the aqua blue, but it really lives up to its name as it’s much cuter.

Green Pens Pile

Green Pens

Uni-ball Propus Window Soft Colour Double-Sided Highlighter in Lime Green: Window love! Smooth to highlight with if you get the flat edge of the tip in full contact with the paper. Seems like more of an apple green to me. Similar to normal highlighter green, but a more washed out version.

Pilot FriXion Colours Erasable Marker in Green: A very deep, soft green. Seems like there’s a blue tinge to the colour. As with the other FriXion markers it sort of leaves thicker patches of ink if you write slower. It gives a slight ombre effect, which follows the natural movement of your handwriting, which is fun!

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen in Lime Green: Very nice colour, definitely feels like a lime green. Smooth and pencil-like (hence the name)!

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen in Green: A little disappointed with this colour. Feels like they put the wrong ink refill in it. Doesn’t look like the packaging colour as it’s more of a murky, swamp green.

Uni-ball Propus Window Soft Colour Double Sided Highlighter in Aqua Blue: This isn’t what I think of as aqua. I know it’s blue, and I’ve put it with the green pens, but it really is on the edge of blue/green. It could go either way! I’d be more inclined to call it pale teal, but that doesn’t sound super attractive.

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .38mm in Green: A clearer and more vibrant version of classic green.

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .5mm in Lime Green: Really happy green! Although three of these green pens are called lime green they are all very different. This one is very bright and shimmers nicely on paper.

(from top to bottom)

Pilot FriXion Color-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen .7mm in Cherry Blossom: I get really excited when the ink colour matches the pen body colour and this one is spot on!

Pilot FriXion Colours Erasable Marker in Pink: Lovely baby pink, the ink colour is even nicer than I thought it would be.

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .5mm in Baby Pink: Definitely not baby pink. It’s the epitome of hot pink! One of my favourite Style Fits.

Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight Gel Ink Pen in Fluorescent Vermilion Orange: I had to get this because of the colour name. It sounds so summery! (I think it’s because it sounds like pavilion so I picture an orange-themed garden party). It’s so fluoro I hardly know what colour to call it. It’s red/orange/pink… not sure.

Uni-ball Propus Window Soft Colour Double-Sided Highlighter Pen in Cherry Blossom Pink: My favourite colour of these highlighters. If you squished up some cherry blossoms and stuck them in a highlighter, it would look like this.

Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight Gel Ink Pen in Red: At first I was a bit disappointed with this colour, as it’s more of a vibrant cold red than the soft warm red of the lid. But the more I use it the more I like it.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen .4mm in European Colours, Camellia Pink: I love camellias (and Europe) so I had to buy this pen. It seems like it’s becoming my favourite pink pen that I own (and that’s a big deal, you have no idea how many pink pens I have. Then again, maybe you do!).

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .38mm in Rose Pink: Very sweet colour. Seems to be just like the camellia pink, but with a blue tone to it.

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen .7mm in Dark Pink: Again I’m really impressed at how well the ink colour matches the body colour! I haven’t come across many really dark pink pens before (that aren’t pretending to be purple or red), so I’m using it a lot.

Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight Gel Ink Pen in Rose: There really isn’t anything rose about this pen, as it’s very purpley pink. In fact it’s probably more purple than pink. Maybe magenta?

Orange Pens

Orange Pens

(from left to right)

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen .4mm in Cosmetic Colours, Mandarin Orange: I’m very attached to this pen as it reminds of those little sugar-coated mandarin-flavoured lollies that I absolutely love! And mandarin juice. Yum.

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .38mm in Orange: The perfect colour. It’s exactly what I picture when I think of orange.

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen in Orange: Warm yellowy orange. If you wanted a colour to match your Rhodia notepad, this is the pen for you.

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen in Dark Orange: I’m very into these dark colours that the FriXions are offering, they’re rather unusual. Yet again the ink matches the body colour perfect, Pilot is definitely my favourite pen brand.

Uni-ball Propus Window Soft Colour Double-Sided Highlighter in Golden Yellow: Not sure how to describe this colour. Very fluoro, very yellow, but orange at the same time…

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .5mm in Golden Yellow: Not so much gold, more orange.

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .5mm in Mandarin Orange: Super red orange. I really like the colour but I think Uni-ball needs to work on their colour names.

Dark Pens

Purple and Black Pens

(from top to bottom)

Uni-Ball Propus Window Soft Colour Double-Sided Highlighter in Lavender Purple: I just wish it smelled like lavender.

Pilot FriXion Colour-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen in Grey: Who knew I’d love writing in grey so much! People tend to write in black or blue and sometime black blue, but what about grey! It’s very neutral just softer than black. I’m on a mission to find more grey pens.

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .38mm in Violet: The perfect purple. Uni-ball should rename this to purple.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen with Grip .4mm in Black: I really wanted a black .4mm Hi-Tec-C but JetPens had sold out so I had to order one with a grip section. I really don’t mind it! And of course it writes like a dream.

Style Fit Close Up

Blue Style Fits

(from top to bottom)

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .5mm in Sky Blue: I just drew a squiggle with this pen so I could think about what I’d call it. I was thinking it’s a beautiful sky blue, and then I realised that’s what Uni-ball called it! Yay, Uni-ball is redeeming themselves!

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .38mm in Blue Black: Loved this pen to death. Literally. It ran out!

Uni-ball Style Fit Single Colour Slim Gel Ink Pen .38mm in Light Blue: Such a warm blue, it’s a really nice colour so I use it often.

Hectic post Lot! So many pretty pens! I have tons of the Sakura Pens that I baught in Japan! If you ever want to borrow or test more colors let me know ^_^ they are super fun

    • Sammy! You read my blog! YAY!!! Are you serious? Ok after exams we’ll have a Sakura pen party ;)

  • Jonathan

I love the Uniball Signo DX, because they write really fine and smooth, which is great for small writing in margins or in diagrams for projects!

    These are my favourite:

  • This is a really cool contest. I love JetPens, and I can certainly understand the passion for pens. I’m not entering the contest because these particular pens would be completely wasted on me (I’m in the fountain pen realm quite firmly), but I do really like the concept and hope the contest goes well for you!

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Lee! Haha I have a similar situation with my boyfriend, he loves European, Asian and sometimes vintage fountain pens, and I love gel pens and all cute pens! Although sometimes we can convince each other to use one another’s pens. (I’ve currently stolen a vanishing point from him, I love it!)

  • Dan

My favorite from Jetpens is this:

You can create your own multi pen using Style Fit pens/refills! :D

    • Jonathan

Wow that black one looks awesome!

  • I would truly wish I had the money for a Pelikan M205 fountain penX-fine in red.

It looks sparkling and ready to last me a lifetime and fountain pens are the best conversation starter.
If nothing else in common we can always chat about the weather and why some of us use these out-of-date objects.

    Happy summer everyone!

  • The Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen with it’s glossy white body is a real head turner!

  • I just like the pretty pictures Bru xxx

  • Marie C

Hello! Wow, what an exciting competition :D I’ve always been fond of pens, but quite recently I’ve found myself becoming more obsessed than ever. The Gelly Roll pens in particular have caught my attenton! I’ve not used one yet, but I’d certainly love to. When I was younger and wanted to write on black or dark paper I’d always use a white crayon or pencil, which, to be honest was a bit rubbish. :P
It’s hard to choose a favourite pen from the JetPens website (must I choose just one?!) But, well, the frosted glass dip pens look amazing – but not so ‘practical’ for people such as I who like to write pages and pages of words every day. In that case, I think I’ll have to go for the Sakura Gelly Roll Moonlight pen, which you’ve actually listed. I’ve read that the pen doesn’t bleed through on most papers, that it’s not that metallic and of course that it writes well on black paper. Oh, and the colour reminds me of green fireworks, which I love!
Oops, a bit of a rambling comment there…

    • CONGRATULATIONS MARIE! You have won the giveaway! :) Have a look at the latest post for how to claim your prize!

  • Hey Charlotte :)

You told me to enter so I will ;)

    My favorite pen is this

The Zebra Airfit Gell Ink Pen, I first bought this in Japan along with many other Zebra branded stationary. I’ve been using it for so long and I love it! It was the pen that got me back into loving stationary like I used to as a child (which is a long story, oddly enough).

  • I think the Uni Style Fit pens are the ones I’m most interested in. The colors look like they should be really vibrant. I love narrow, spidery lines and I can’t get them where I live in my rural pen wasteland. If it doesn’t come from a smallish Staples, I can’t get it so Jetpens has been my friend for quite some time now. I can go through pens pretty quickly since my job as a librarian entails writing lots of short notes for people so they can find this book or that one. To help keep it fun for me, I love to use pretty pens.

    Cool contest…
