THE BODY SHOP

MELBOURNE

It’s a scent smorgasbord over at Confetti Avenue HQ right now! I’ve been studiously testing luxuriating in a whole variety of products from The Body Shop: citrus and nuts, skincare and body care, treatment and cleansing, new and classic. The Body Shop has never let me down. I’ve been a long-time fan thanks to the reliability of top qual. products and delicious scents. While I’ve gone through a lot of different The Body Shop products in my time (hello advent calendar), all today’s products are new to me! I swear I’ll never make it through EVERYTHING at The Body Shop but I can certainly try.

First up I think we have to address the elephant in the room. And I literally mean elephant because the Jumbo Shea Nourishing Body Butter is HUGE! I’m particularly fond of the mini body butters cause they’re cute and little and it means I can collect lots of different scents. But this is way too much fun. It’s totally ridiculous and I love it. Other than the size, the scent is really very comforting and subtle, and my legs are thoroughly enjoying it

I’ve been super intrigued by The Body Shop’s premium range since it launched. As it’s a much higher price point, the Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask is the first product I’ve tried. Let’s just get one thing out of the way here. Look at that photo! Look at the glorious, glowing, spread-it-on-toast, radiance! Whilst the product features honey prominently, it’s absolutely not sticky. It’s quite the opposite as it has a gel consistency. Not only does it look glowly in the jar, it leaves your skin glowy after leaving it on for 10 minutes. It’s incredibly hydrating and really helps any pesky dry patches.

What I’ve been enjoying the most however, is the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. I have never removed my makeup with anything so gentle. Removing makeup when all you want to do is face-plant into a pillow is the most tedious and annoying activity. I feel like this has made my evenings so much easier because (1) I don’t have to splash water around and wet my face first, (2) I don’t have to scrub or wipe away at my skin, only massage, and (3) it works damn well. My only complaint is how fast I’m going to go through it. I’m thinking I need a jumbo body butter size container.

Finally we have a whole new range! If you’re into your citrus you will be into this. I really like orange scented products as it’s such an invigorating scent (perfect for mornings). The Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser is such a beautiful colour, and it feels really light on the skin. The concept of the Vitamin C Eye Reviver Duo is fantastic – one end has a doe foot applicator and a rollerball on the other. You can definitely use both sides together to stack the radiance boosting and reviving properties. But I had the genius idea of using them separately on each eye. Will report back on how that goes. Finally, the Vitamin C Daily Glow Cleansing Polish is hard core on the orange scent. If this doesn’t wake you up in the morning, I don’t know what will. It’s a really fresh scrub that feels really powerful at the time, but leaves your skin soft and bright.

I’ve certainly found some new favourites in these products, and I can tick a bunch of stuff off The Body Shop bucket list! Would love to hear any recommendations on that I should try next.
